Apocalyptic Prophecies

Is the end near? A collapse of the modern world predicted due to the loss of its power balance

Fox news anchor Jesse Watters talked to Peter Zeihan who suggested what kind of end our planet might have. In his opinion, the apocalypse may turn out to be more prosaic than we imagine it to be. He believes that the world may collapse for economic reasons.

The global world order we are accustomed to is about to collapse, says Fox News host Jesse Watters. This, among other things, implies a shortage of food and energy resources.

“This process has already begun,” Watters warned.

The current globalized world may collapse for economic reasons, Peter Zeihan, author of the book “The End of the World is Just the Beginning,” agreed with Watters on Fox News.

The TV presenter cites the food crash in Peru and Sri Lanka as an example, saying that any other country could be next. At the same time, he notes that it was the United States that was responsible for the functioning of the global world order and their Navy monitored the situation in the oceans. Now, says Watters, the US “has lost that ability.” His interlocutor Peter Zeihan, believes that the United States simply lost the desire to stay on track.

“We have squandered all the former power. We have 14 aircraft carriers in service, several more on the way – this is enough to destroy a country, but about 800 destroyers are needed to patrol the oceans in order to protect maritime trade, and we have only 70 of them,” Zeihan said.

Zeihan believes humanity is now saving due to the growth of production and has diversified the entire range of professional skills, resulting in a familiar world, “where everything is in abundance.”

“But if, due to populism, as well as trade and demographic reasons, the global system collapses, all this will disappear. Only those countries that have great influence and have access to labor and capital will stay afloat. And there are not many of them,” he said.

According to Zeihan, only those countries that have great influence and have access to labor and capital will stay afloat. And there are not many of them.

He added that the US shows no desire to continue the same course.

“We have spent all our former power. We have 14 aircraft carriers in service, several more are on the way – this is enough to destroy a country, but about 800 destroyers are needed to patrol the world’s oceans in order to protect maritime trade, and we have only 70 of them” Zeihan said.

He is not too worried about the US as it has the largest and most diversified economy in the world.
