Strange Object Spotted on the Surface of Mars

WhatsUpInTheSky37 posted a video discussing an odd piece of metallic looking material found on the surface of Mars which seems to possess manufactured characteristics.

The strange object which has a perfect circular hole in the middle was previously spotted by Neville Thompson who posted it on his Gigapan for SOL 2013.

The object does not appear to be from the rover or other vehicle since there are no obvious tracks around it.

Mysterious Light Seen in Mars Photograph

A bright glowing light was captured earlier this month by one of the cameras aboard NASA’s Curiosity rover.

The long-lived rover has certainly encountered its fair share of mysteries during its time trundling across the Martian surface and this latest enigma is no exception.

While conspiracy theorists have been quick to suggest that the anomalous light could be evidence of intelligent life on Mars, the actual explanation is likely to be a lot more mundane.

According to Curiosity’s navcam operator Justin Maki, such anomalies are in fact nothing new.

“In the thousands of images we’ve received from Curiosity, we see ones with bright spots nearly every week,” he said.

“These can be caused by cosmic-ray hits or sunlight glinting from rock surfaces, as the most likely explanations.”

Exactly which of these possibilities accounts for this particular example however remains unclear.

Mysterious empty graves in Thailand

A video has appeared of what is said to be a graveyard in Thailand with open graves and the bodies missing.

So far no one can explain what happened and it remains a mystery.

Did the dead rise during the night or was it the work of grave robbers?

Cat filter blunder turns conference in to a farce

The filter made the conference difficult to take seriously.

A Pakistani minister was left red-faced after a cat filter was accidentally enabled on his Facebook livestream.

Journalist Shaukat Yousafzai – who had previously served as regional health minister as well as an adviser to Pakistan’s prime minister, Imran Khan – was giving a briefing to reporters about a serious political matter when the incident happened.

Somehow one of his team members had managed to inadvertently enable the cat filter on the livestream, meaning that the broadcast showed Yousafzai with a pair of cartoon pointy ears superimposed on to his head along with a set of whiskers and a pointy nose.

The humorous blunder ended up going viral and left social media sites awash with feline puns.

Yousafzai later commented on the incident by noting that two officials sitting next to him had also been ‘altered’ by the cat filter. He blamed ‘human error’ by one of his team’s ‘hard-working volunteers.’

Whether the individual responsible is still part of his team however remains unclear.
