Six true stories from the past week that will send chills down your spine 1

Discussions about anomalies often involve recounting events from the past, which seem more significant than those of today. At best, we might encounter a mundane UFO sighting, and the aliens appear unwell, their songs filled with sorrow, clearly indicating they are not the masters but rather the enslaved. It seems an error has been made; the wrong alien has arrived.

Indeed, the world’s anonymous forums are brimming with peculiar events currently unfolding. Today, we won’t speculate on their veracity – after all, people witness many things, and the art of storytelling persists. We have chosen for you six of the most remarkable cases, which, at the time of writing this article, are no more than a week old.

Immured alive

In Bologna, Italy, there is a place known as Villa Malvasia, now ruins encircled by a fence. Yet, this barrier does not deter thrill-seekers, who recently fled the villa in the dead of night, vaulting over the barriers and ripping their trousers on the sharp fence stakes as they screamed.

They sought the ghost of a girl named Clara, and it seems they encountered just that.

Clara resided in the villa at the dawn of the twentieth century. She was no ordinary child; she possessed the ability to predict the future and move objects with her gaze. In those less enlightened times, her father, bereft of a wife’s counsel, was convinced by whispers that his daughter was “possessed.” Believing this, he attempted various exorcisms until one horrific night, he entombed the child alive within the villa’s walls.

Indeed, her father was incarcerated, the villa became derelict, and now Clara is exposed to all. The crowds are sparse; the locals shun these ruins, yet a new generation rises, skeptical of “grandmother’s tales,” eager to explore on their own. The young ones advance, flag in hand.

Trembling, the tourists of the following midnight recounted their encounter with Clara – she sings lullabies, and it seems she frolics with dolls. We observed, and that sufficed.

Predicted the Apocalypse

Generally, predictors are not well-received. The woman who foretold Armageddon vanished three decades ago. Recently, she reemerged unscathed, seemingly to proclaim dire predictions once more.

Patricia Kopta was deeply religious. She was known for her vivid depictions of the world engulfed in flames and for specifying dates (unfortunately, the specific dates were not reported) for these events. Her family disapproved of her. On November 27, 1992, she left her home and was not seen again.

The search for her was relentless, with suspicion cast upon her husband. Amidst the stress, he posted advertisements and sought insights from psychics, but the nightmare seemed endless.

The ordeal concluded when Patricia herself phoned from Puerto Rico, revealing her quiet life in a nursing home over the past 30 years. Her prolonged silence had led the staff to believe she was mute. Upon hearing the news, her 86-year-old husband (Patricia being 83) simply exhaled a sigh of relief, remarking, “Well, now at least everyone can see that I am innocent.”

Breaking her long silence, Patricia began to share a series of grim prophecies, although such revelations are less shocking nowadays.

Gemini show

On the outskirts of Madrid, a guy and a girl were riding a bike on a narrow pedestrian road alongside a stream. At one point, they passed a peculiar person walking in the same direction. Dressed in a tuxedo, top hat, and carrying a cane, he was an unusual sight. They thought nothing of it and continued on.

A few miles later, they passed the same person again, which was baffling. It was clear that he couldn’t have crossed the stream and overtaken them without them noticing, especially not in a tuxedo. Such stories are not uncommon. Here’s one that was shared with by a friend who’s not known for making up tales.

During a day trip by train to another city, a woman and her husband take in the sights and briefly encounter another couple from London, who plan to stay overnight. Later, upon returning to the train, the doors open to reveal the same couple they met earlier.

It would have been a mere coincidence, but both couples exchanged stares of recognition. Neither pair spoke, though; the doors shut, the narrator and her husband departed, and the other couple set off to explore the city—a city they seemed to have already visited hours before.

Let’s chalk it up to “quantum entanglement”—a truly perplexing tale—and continue on.

He knows your name

A young man and his father set out to visit relatives in the Michigan wilderness, where a house stands encircled by forest, just as they like it.

Family gatherings can be dull, and the young man often escapes to the porch for a smoke (which we do not endorse). He starts to feel that it’s not just the branches snapping, but as if someone is tapping on the roof. It’s his first night at the summer house. As darkness falls, a voice from the forest calls out his name, once, twice, thrice. The boy quickly snuffs out his cigarette and retreats inside, spending a restless night, only to return to civilization come morning.

Back to the grind of the workweek and office banter, he shares his eerie experience, and a colleague responds:

I hail from such places myself. It’s a common occurrence. These are charming monsters that seek attention and desire to play.

Generally, there are many stories about mysterious knocks and voices in homes. In Rome, a brother is at a loss about his teenage sister’s claims. She insists that someone is calling her from the closet, and he can hear it too, but they are hesitant to inform their parents.

Often, but not always, the truth comes to light. For instance, a three-year-old girl was certain that “monsters” from a cartoon were living behind her wall. When experts investigated, they discovered a massive swarm of bees within the wall. The bees were detected through an infrared image, which showed the wall radiating with the heat from the insects. Such revelations do occur.

Eerie lights in the sky

Unusual events were unfolding in the skies above Japan. Picture invisible beings soaring through the air, their lanterns casting light skyward. What you’d see are brief yet intense columns of light.

The clamor was immense, and images quickly proliferated on social media.

Eventually, an explanation emerged with some difficulty. It was suggested that numerous fishing boats at sea and low-altitude ice crystals in the atmosphere were responsible for creating these light pillars.

Yet, this explanation is not entirely satisfactory. Similar pillars of light have also been observed by inhabitants of other countries. However, these stretched directly from the horizon, where the nascent Sun lay hidden, appearing to be suspended mid-air. The enigma persists.

No one wants to fly there

We had hoped to conclude with an alien story, but there was no extraterrestrial activity near Earth last week. However, former Area 52 employees have taken legal action. They claim to have worked with UFO debris, which adversely affected their health, yet the government refuses to offer compensation.

Previously, these individuals were coerced into signing nondisclosure agreements, claiming they were merely janitors and saw nothing. Unlike some Area 51 staff who are receiving compensation, these individuals are not. Area 52, shrouded in even greater secrecy than Area 51, has come to light due to this lawsuit.

While Area 51 is rumored to house alien remains and Star Wars memorabilia, the mysteries of Area 52 are chilling to contemplate.
