Motorists in British Columbia were less than impressed when sewage started to rain down on their cars last month.
The disgusting incident, which took place in the city of Kelowna, resulted in a plethora of complaints as gallons of excrement fell from the sky on to cars, streets and even people’s gardens.
Susan Allen and her son Travis Sweet had been stuck at a red stop light when the event occurred.
“While we were sitting there, our car was inundated with liquid poo falling from the sky,” said Allen. “It smelled so bad that my stomach got ill.”
Unfortunately for them, the car’s sunroof just happened to be open at the time.
It is believed that a passing aircraft was to blame for dumping the waste over the area.
“Each air operator is responsible for ensuring that their aircraft operate safely and in compliance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations,” said Transport Canada spokesman Daniel Savoie.
These regulations happen to include – “no person shall create a hazard to persons or property on the surface by dropping an object from an aircraft in flight.”
An official investigation in to the incident is currently ongoing.
