What connects almost all mythology are the beliefs of all people revolved around the divine origin of life, the subsequent appearance of man, and the preparations associated with death.

Only the names of the gods and goddesses change, or their visual interpretations. The entourage, the general orientation is permeated by one characteristic feature – the divine origin of both the world and the person in it prevails in human memory. 

Despite that the gods and goddesses copy the actions of the people themselves, even with all fighting, drinking, tearing each other to pieces, from which, by the way, they later create the earth and the first people, the essence remains the same – an unforgettable fire exists in human memory, that the origin of life comes from the gods.

We do not take into account Christian theology at the moment, but the very essence of folk epics, because they are actually very similar, with rare exceptions and characters, from the epic of Gilgamesh and other Sumerian-Babylonian legends, to the northern songs of the Normans. From Babylonian, Egyptian, Greek to Scythian and areas where no traveler has set foot, they all have similar characteristics.

The idea of ​​the divine origin of life in the mythology of the past, albeit in such ugly tones, prompts to one curious idea, namely, is this not a prerequisite for thinking that knowledge about the true appearance of the Earth, a person, remained in human memory, which were forgotten over time, overgrown with details, superstitions, but the divine essence remained, albeit in this form transmitted to descendants?

What if the mythology that people refer to as fairy tales of the past actually has a lot more meaning than is commonly believed? Maybe you should take a closer look at the works of the past, and try to find out what the creators of legends and epics really wanted to tell us?

What conclusions do we come to as a result of reading, for example the history of the Vikings and recollections of the myths of other nations?

First, there is no information about the gradual birth of the planet and people.

Second, a characteristic feature of almost all mythology is the idea of ​​sacrifice.

Third, the attitude towards death is trembling and associated with fear and takes a long preparation in order to propitiate the gods while being on the other side of life.

But the most important is apparently the idea of ​​expulsion from paradise, which has been in people’s memory since ancient times. Heaven and hell in various interpretations are present in legends. The idea of ​​offering is inherent in all world religions and beliefs, up to the offering of human sacrifices, but it nonetheless dominates, a very interesting fact indeed.

The idea of ​​creation also hints at the fact that no matter how much you would like to, you can’t erase the memory of the past, nor his divine appearance from the memory of a person. From this point of view, modern scientific research looks artificial and alien in the highest sense.

Based on the biblical story about creation, the fall, the expulsion from Eden, the flood and other fundamental episodes, we can conclude that a person remembers something about his past, when people began to spread on earth. 

These recordings were passed on to descendants in one form or another through stories about the present. By present, we mean what people intuitively suspect that that it is impossible to etch out what they carefully store, no matter how hard they try to convince them otherwise. And this past may actually turn out to be true and present.

Going deeper in time

What do we have more ancient? Totemism, preserved to our time among primitive tribes. We can also add to it the results of archaeological excavations of graves from the time of the Neanderthals. And what do we see from the analysis of these truly ancient myths and rituals?

There are indeed traces of funeral rites in the graves of primitive people. Nobody wanted to die even then, so people strongly believed in ​​the immortality of the soul.

Scientists on the other side have a hypothesis that this idea, the analogy of sleep and death, became the basis of religious ideas. Primitive people saw that a person during sleep and a dead person are somewhat similar. And since after sleep you can wake up, that is, a person remains alive, then, the primitives concluded that “you can wake up.” after death too. Only not in our world, in ours there are no revived dead, but in the other – the “world of spirits”.

In totemism, although a person does not come from the gods, but from animals, there is also a very simple analogy, accessible to the people’s imagination. The prototype of the idea of ​​the evolution of life – which is actually the most ancient mythological idea of ​​the origin of man. And only then did the animals begin to acquire the features of people – we look at a little later ancient Egyptian mythology. Then these gods-man-beasts began to look like people – like the Vikings.

Speaking about the mythology and concepts of the universe of the ancients, it is useful to get acquainted with the “opinion” / way of being of the modern “primitive” Papuans and African peoples. Here it turns out that belief in a deity, an afterlife is not a figment of fantasy, but a reality in the form of the posthumous appearance of the dead and the response of spirits to rituals and sacrifices. Much is said about this in the Testament: the monotheism of the God-chosen people made its way, with losses and defeats from the dominant idolatry of neighboring tribes, the cult of invoking the spirits of gods and the dead. That is, the Bible confirms the reality of what unfortunate scientists want to pass off as fantasies of “stupid” natives.

By the way, posthumous contacts of the dead with the living have not disappeared in the modern high-tech civilization, as well as faith and contact with fallen spirits. It’s just that “positive” science does not notice this range of phenomena and therefore cannot unravel the laboratory under or above the personality’s consciousness.

In world mythology there is a whole layer of legends about the gradual origin of the world. A typical example is ancient Greek mythology: at first there was Chaos, then he quarreled and gave birth to Uranus and Gaia and so on. Further, in Sumerian mythology, from which the younger Hebrew originates, the world is also born gradually. And the echo of this, by the way, remained in Judaism – there are also 6 days, that is, a gradual origin. The Jews, in fact, made only one fundamental correction to Sumerian mythology, that God did not appear from “heaven and earth”, but vice versa. But the idea of ​​the gradual development of the world remained.
