Call of the deep: weird sounds stumped experts 10,000 Meters Under The Sea

71% of the earth’s area is ocean, but human understanding of the ocean is as little as the exploration of space. In recent years, marine researchers have detected strange noises coming from the deepest parts of the ocean in the Mariana Trench. But so far, researchers have been unable to find out what kind of creature made these sounds.

Strange screams from the bottom of the sea

In an article published in the Journal of the American Society for Acoustic Research, researchers heard a strange cry-like sound in the deepest part of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. This ‘call’ lasts for about five seconds at a time, starting with a groan-like super bass and then turning into an ultra-high frequency scream.

The Mariana Trench is the deepest trench ever discovered by humans at this stage, with a depth of 10,911 meters below the sea level.

In terms of acoustics, this sound is unusual, much like the cry of a baleen whale, but it is not, probably from a creature unknown to mankind.

Staff at the Hatfield Marine Science Management Center accidentally listened to and collected the strange sound while monitoring the sound of whales under the sea in the Mariana Trench. Biologists speculate that the mysterious cry may have been made by a whale that lived at an unknown depth and had never been found before. But researchers have doubts about this.

Scientists explained that if the call came from an unknown whale during breeding, why could it be heard all year round? This is not in line with the habits of whale life.

This strange cry is very different, is a near-crazy sound, its first half is a super bass with a frequency of 38 Hz, and the second half is raised to a super high, supersonic tone with a frequency of 8000 Hz. This is a mystery to scientists.

Acoustics experts also point out that such strange calls have little in common with the noise of ships and various artificial devices, nor are they the natural or climatological sounds known to us, such as the sound of earthquake disasters and broken ice. This strange cry is incredible indeed.

Now, scientists continue to monitor the proportions of the strange sound that occurs throughout the year, as well as the areas where the noise is scattered. The team is looking forward to finding the subsea creatures that produce it.

The legend of the mermaid

Whether in the East or in the West, there are beautiful legends of mermaids. A US researcher once said that mermaids are not just a legend, they really exist in our real world. This phrase immediately attracted widespread attention.

In April 1990, a team of construction workers found the mummified remains of a 3,000-year-old mermaid in a grave near the Black Sea off Sochi. She looked like a beautiful dark-skinned princess with a fish tail under her body. The mermaid’s body was 173 cm in length and scientists believe that she should be more than 100 years old when she died.

On July 2, 1991, scientists discovered the world’s first complete mermaid fossil, aged iver 12,000 years, off the coast of Yugoslavia (Today Serbia). Archaeologist Dr. Ogani, who has worked for four years in the waters where the mermaid appeared, believes the mermaid should have been buried alive during a landslide because she was protected by the surrounding limestone and slowly turned into fossils.

According to the fossils, the mermaid was approximately 160 cm tall, with a human-like waist, a developed head, a fairly large brain, her hands had strong claws, and her eyes had no eyelids, just like other fish.

In August 1991, two professional shark catchers caught a shark in the Caribbean Sea with an unusually strange skeleton in its stomach, which proved to be a half-human, half-fish creature. For this peculiar bone structure, some experts specifically carried out a computer mapping reconstruction, and drawn the shape of a mermaid according to its bone shape.

The researchers said that from the evidence they have, the mermaid is not a fictitious creature, but a creature that does exist in the world. We wonder if the strange sound from the deepest part of the ocean is related to mermaids? This needs to be further explored by scientists.
